POLARFLEECE® PARTNERS WITH PINK BOOTS SOCIETY TO SPONSOR SCHOLARSHIPS TO SIEBEL WORLD BREWING ACADEMY
Awards to Further Education of Female Brewers in the New England Area
Andover, Mass. January 16, 2020. PolarFleece®, the original article from 1981, has teamed up with The Pink Boots Society, a non-profit organization which supports women working in the brewing profession, to sponsor scholarships to the Siebel World Brewing Academy.
“We're proud to team with the Pink Boots Society to empower women brewers,” said David Karstad, PolarFleece® Creative Director. "We’re all for anything that improves quality, enhances creativity, and increases the supply of good beer in New England!"
The WBA Concise Course in Brewing Technology is an intensive three-month course directed to women who desire to enhance their knowledge of brewing technology or are preparing for advanced-level programs like IBD Diploma and Master Brewer exams. Any woman, anywhere in the world, who is actively employed in the beer industry and earns more than 25% of her income from the brewing industry, is qualified for Pink Boots Society membership and to apply for any scholarship.
"This gives Pink Boots members in the New England area a tremendous opportunity to advance their skill set and enhance the local brewing community in return," said Laura Ulrich, President of the Pink Boots Society.
The two scholarship recipients are Anna Jobe, Innovation Brewer at Night Shift Brewing and Mackenzie Mackin, packaging operator at Mass Bay Brewing / Harpoon. The recipients received their award on Monday, January 13, 2020 at the Craft Brewers Guild in Everett, MA.
Be on the lookout for PolarFleece at a New England brewery this winter. And, for more information and to apply for the scholarship, applicants are encouraged to visit https://www.pinkbootssociety.org/scholarship-application/

About Pink Boots Society
The Pink Boots Society was created to assist, inspire and encourage women beer professionals to advance their careers in the beer industry through education. With over 2500 members in more than 80 Chapters across the world, they’re providing education and support to women in all aspects of the brewing industry. Signature events include at their semi-annual membership meetings and culminate in Collaboration Brew Day.
Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day was born from our members’ desire to take part in International Women’s Day (IWD) March 8th by raising the profile of women’s roles in the beer industry. Chapters and members of Pink Boots Society get together along with supporting breweries and individuals, put on their pink boots and brew their chosen beer style. The revenue is applied to educational scholarships and programming for its members.
